  1. I sometimes wonder if a bad review may not be better than not having many reviews. At least someone thought enough of the book to take the time to say something. Different things appeal to folks. I may get bored with a western genre, but not likely to feel that way about a mystery. One thing that concerns me is if someone wrote a get-even review about my book when it was just to get at me. I work in human resources, so it can happen. Also, people could be going through custody battles, bad divorces and someone wants to exact revenge by giving the other person a bad review. I wish we could beg a site like Amazon to delete those revenge-type reviews, but realistically how we? The sites don't know we are telling the truth or can't get into the "he said, she said" stuff. I think any of us who get bad reviews will have to live with them. Bestselling authors even get them.

  2. Hello Linda! I agree with you. Perhaps a bad review is better than no review at all, unless that is the only review. That could tip the hat against the author. As with other things that happen in life, bad reviews for authors are just a part of it. I say, if it is useful, listen. If it isn't, move on. Revenge reviews are the worst, but how does one tell. That is the real problem!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment Lynda and I greatly appreciate it!
